Description
This 2020 Walla Walla Valley Estate Merlot was produced from grapes grown at Woodward Canyon Estate Vineyard (Salmon Safe certified) at the western edge of the Walla Walla Valley. The mature, south-facing, “old vine” vineyard block (Clone 3) is now 25 years of age. The newer Merlot block (Clone 181) is younger but very impressive. The 2020 vintage was warm and dry with Estate Merlot blocks averaging lower than normal yields from 1.6 - 2.6 tons per acre.
